The Mayan civilization is well-known for its great deal of knowledge and for its various predictions based on astronomy.

Future babies’ gender being at that time very secret, they created a prediction method using moon phases to determine whether the newborn would be a girl or a boy. They do so by taking the age of the mother at the time of conception and the month of conception.

The word of mouth worked pretty well and this method was turned into a chart to be more understandable for us, people of today’s world.
